Core Functionality & VpnService: As a virtual private network application, Mezi VPN utilizes Android's built-in VpnService class as its core functionality. This allows us to establish a secure, encrypted device-level tunnel to our remote servers, ensuring your internet traffic is protected. The VpnService is strictly used to route your connection and is never used to collect personal data or manipulate advertising.
Free & Ad-Supported: Mezi VPN is a 100% free application. We do not offer any in-app purchases or paid subscriptions. The Service is funded entirely through advertisements served by Google AdMob.
Information We Collect
Device Identifier: Our service operates without requiring personal registration. We do not ask for your email address, name, or password. Instead, we use an automatically generated, anonymous Device ID (UUID) to manage your app settings and usage quota.
Connection Data: We collect minimal connection metadata to maintain service quality, including: timestamps of connections (without activity logs), the amount of data transferred (aggregate, not per-session), and the server you connected to. This data is used solely for service operation.
Device Information: We may collect basic device information such as operating system version and app version for troubleshooting and compatibility purposes.
Advertising Identifier: Google AdMob accesses your Android Advertising ID to serve, personalize, and measure advertisements. This identifier can be reset or disabled in your device settings. See the "Advertising" section below for full details.
What We Do NOT Collect
We have a strict no-logs policy. We do not collect, store, or monitor:
- Your browsing history or the content of your internet traffic
- DNS queries made while connected to our VPN
- Your originating IP address linked to your VPN activity
- Timestamps of specific websites or services you access
- Any data that could be used to identify what you do online while connected
- Payment information, credit card numbers, or billing details (we have no paid features)
How We Use Your Information
We use the limited information we collect to:
- Provide and maintain the VPN service
- Manage your usage quota and rewarded ad credits
- Display advertisements through Google AdMob to fund the free service
- Send important service notifications (e.g., security alerts, maintenance windows)
- Improve and optimize our server network and app performance
- Prevent abuse of our service and comply with legal obligations
Advertising
Mezi VPN is a free, ad-supported application. We use Google AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob is an advertising service provided by Google LLC. Ad revenue is the sole source of funding that allows us to offer the VPN service at no cost to users.
What AdMob Collects
When ads are shown, Google AdMob may collect and process the following data:
- Advertising ID: Your device's unique advertising identifier (Android Advertising ID), which can be reset or opted out of in your device settings
- Device Information: Device model, operating system version, screen size, language, and network type
- Approximate Location: Coarse (city-level) location derived from your IP address for serving region-relevant ads
- Ad Interaction Data: Information about ads you view, click on, or interact with
- App Usage Data: Basic app activity related to ad delivery, such as frequency of ad impressions
Ad Types We Use
- Banner Ads: Small ads displayed at the bottom of certain screens
- Interstitial Ads: Full-screen ads shown at natural transition points
- Rewarded Ads: Optional video ads that you choose to watch in exchange for additional free VPN time (+20 minutes per ad viewed)
- App Open Ads: Ads shown when you return to the app after a period of inactivity
Ad Personalization
By default, Google may show personalized ads based on your interests and activity. You can opt out of personalized advertising by:
- Going to Settings > Google > Ads on your Android device and enabling "Opt out of Ads Personalization"
- Resetting your Advertising ID in the same settings menu
Even after opting out, you will still see ads, but they will be non-personalized (contextual) rather than based on your interests.

Data Security
We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including:
- WireGuard protocol for VPN connections with state-of-the-art cryptography
- Encrypted data storage for device information
- Secure server infrastructure with regular security audits
- Access controls limiting who within our team can access user data
Data Retention
We retain your device information for as long as the app is actively used. If you delete your account through the app, we will remove your data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
Aggregate connection statistics (not linked to individual users) may be retained for service improvement purposes.
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
